The long-term goal is to re-establish Chesterfield as a respected club in the top two tiers, and finally go one step further than the heroic 1997 FA Cup run by winning a major domestic trophy (FA Cup or League Cup).

1. Management & Tactical Rules
Difficulty: Ultimate.

Manager Market: Stay at Chesterfield for the entire challenge.

2. Transfer & Squad Rules (The Local Lad Focus)
The main challenge is promoting local talent and signing players from nearby areas and lower leagues, mimicking realistic lower-league recruitment.

Incomings (Signings):
Geographical Limit: For the first three seasons (until promotion to the Championship is secured), you can only sign players who are English, Welsh, or Scottish, or players coming directly from the English Football League (EFL) (Leagues 1 & 2 or Championship) or a lower English/Scottish/Welsh league (e.g., National League, Scottish Championship, etc.).

No "High Potential" Sniping: You cannot sign free agents or players from top leagues (Premier League, La Liga, etc.) whose overall rating is below 65, but whose potential is 80 or above (i.e., no obvious youth wonderkids from top clubs).

A New Keeper Dynasty: Chesterfield has a history of great goalkeepers (Sam Hardy, Gordon Banks). You must sign/develop an English goalkeeper with "Exciting Prospect" or better potential before reaching the Championship.

Outgoings (Selling):
Realistic Demands: If a player in your starting XI (or a high-potential youth player) receives a transfer offer of 150% or more of their market value from a club in a higher league, you must accept the offer (simulating the draw of bigger clubs).

Youth Academy (The Derbyshire Pipeline):
Scouting Restriction: You can only hire youth scouts to search in England or Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland (to represent local/nearby talent pools).

Derbyshire Born: You must always have at least 3 players in your squad (either from the initial squad, signed, or youth academy) with an English nationality.

3. Long-Term Objectives
These objectives determine the success of your challenge.

Foundation (Season 1) - Achieve promotion to EFL League One.
Stability (Season 4) - Maintain League One status and finish in the top half of the table.
The Semi-Final Barrier (Season 5 or earlier) - Reach the FA Cup Quarter Final or better, to match/surpass the 1997 run.
The Big Time (Season 7 or earlier) - Achieve promotion to the Premier League (The first time in club history).
Glory (No Limit) - Win a Major Domestic Trophy (FA Cup or League Cup).
The Spire (No Limit) - Win the Premier League, or the FA Cup/League Cup, with a player from your Youth Academy playing an "Important" or "Crucial" role in the final match.

4. Season 1 Targets (The Immediate Focus)
League Two: Achieve an automatic promotion spot (Top 3) to League One.

Transfers: Keep all incoming transfers under £150k for the season. Utilize free agents and loan-to-buy deals.

Youth: Hire at least one 4/4 star or better English youth scout before the end of the first season.

Cup: Reach the Third Round of the FA Cup (the round where the Premier League teams enter). ✅
