MIR SpiroDoc: How To Perform A Spirometry Test

This is a video tutorial with step-by-step instructions to guide users on how to perform a spirometry test with MIR SpiroDoc, created by EO Medical in Singapore.

Steps:
Preparation:
Prepare the FlowMIR® Disposable Turbine.
(This disposable, single-patient turbine relieves medical staff from cleaning and disinfecting reusable through extensive reprocessing routines.)
How to insert FlowMIR® Disposable Turbine into SPIRODOC.
Insert the turbine in the housing until it reaches the mechanical stop.
Next, rotate the turbine clockwise until it locks in position.
SPIRODOC is now ready for use.

Choose test on device:
Press and release the power button to turn on the device.
Select “FAST” to begin a fast spirometry test without entering patient details.
Select “SPIRO” to begin a spirometry test.

Performing Test
Instruct your patient to:
Place the mouthpiece in mouth and seal lips tightly around it.
Take a deep breath in, as large as possible, and blow out as hard and as fast as possible.
After six seconds of forced expiration, the device emits a long beep, thus helping the user to understand when the minimum expiratory time has been reached.
To end the test and display the spirometry results, press the “ESC” button.

Results:
The screen displays both the Flow/Volume graph and parameters of the Force Vital Capacity.
Finally, document spirometry results.

The spirometry test is complete. (Power off and dispose of single-patient use turbine)
