As a #goalkeepercoach how do you structure the #gktraining the day before the game?
Do you have a #goalkeeping routine or do you filter in some decision making and situational elements?
This is a quick look at an exercise from a recent Philadelphia Union training session the day before a game. The exercise was designed to add some technical boxing, repositioning for the second ball and then decision making at the near post. This was the first exercise after the #goalkeepers did a simple handling activation.
Putting it into context, the opposition in the next game served the box a lot and also tried to get to the end line and cut the ball back. This exercise was to prepare the #goalkeepers for the rest of the session and for the next day.
