Supreme Court strikes down Sec 66A of IT Act

Описание: In a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court on Tuesday passed its verdict on Constitutional validity of Section 66A of Information Technology Act. Section 66A gives provision which makes posting offensive material on social networking sites an offence punishable by up to three years and in the recent years was being misused by politicians who find it difficult to eschew criticism on social media platforms.
