Scapegoat Syndrome's Aspiration Valley (EP)

Описание: Aspiration Valley is a 13 minute progressive rock - fusion piece inspired by my life in the countryside, my connection with nature and my beloved pets. The idea behind this composition was triggered by a question that had been buzzing in my mind ever since the introduction of A.I tools in our lives.

Can I use A.I to emphasize my own humanity within music? A question one might argue contradicts itself...

Rather than using A.I as a composition tool that drives the orchestration, in this song it was used to enhance the performance aspect of it instead. The brass instruments were played on a monophonic synth and replaced with a Sax and a Trumpet player using Google & Magenta's Tone Transfer tool. (I wanted to give it a kind of Canterbury jazz vibe) The pianos for instance were made using physical modelling rather than sampled libraries and then re-amped through a real Fryette tube amp for extra warmth and dynamic compression. All in the name of experimentation and finding new ways to express our ideas as closer to our heart as possible.

The visuals were also created with the help of A.I. originally derived from a real photograph I took on the family farm, A.I image to video tools helped me dream up possible alternate scenarios all beginning and ending with the same scene. Then meticulously chosen within my video editor, synced & stitched together like a slideshow on steroids! Think of it as a painting on your wall that keeps morphing into something else depending on mood driven by the music ;)
