But how can you decide what chain length is right for you?
Generally speaking, the mangalsutra design and your neckline dictates what chain length is right for you.
Measuring chain length is relatively straightforward. You can take a simple tape measure and wrap it around your neckline as I show in this video.
You always need to remember the add (factor in) the size of the pendant. For example, if you choose a 16 inch mangalsutra chain length and the pendant is 1 inch, the total piece will be 17 inches. Most people forget to add the size of the pendant in their overall calculation.
