King Boo's Revenge 2 - Full Playthrough [Savestateless]

Описание: (Timestamps in the comments/Chapters in the description) - KBR2 is a 182 star extreme hack made by thebloody7 and sizzlingmario4 (played on v1.8 adding a slope frame fix). It's also been one of the hardest overall difficult SM64 ROM hacks out there for its time.

Compared to its predecessor, it's definitely more polished and adds more quality of life options. You'll find the courses and even overworlds to be much more expansive in size as well. The themes of the levels are also pretty unique and not your generic grass, water, lava, desert, etc. It incorporates themes you couldn't really describe exactly, but they do look pretty nice (something KBR1 also excelled in). Notable ones for me were Course 2, Course 3, Course 6, Course 11, Course 15, Spiritual Ascension, Alluring Diadem, etc.

As for the gameplay, I'd say it's fun for the most part. Due to the sizes of the levels, you'll find red coin missions and even normal stars taking much longer than before (particularly starting in the 2nd overworld). The jumps themselves have some standard stuff like lots of wallkicking, crossovers, arch jumps, etc. Numerous levels will have this spread many times so you'll have to get use to that. However, it does manage to have some cool experimenting ones like the Vanish/Wing Cap star in Course 9, avoiding the lights in Course 6, purple ! Switch jumping in Spiritual Ascension, etc. Although they don't always work (e.g. the Chuckya star in Course 1 which just drags and pads the star). You'll also come across some collision and invisible wall moments which can kill attempts, though it's not as prominent compared to KBR1. My best performance was hands down RGP reds. It took around 30 minutes to get, and essentially was a first try since the other two attempts were fails at spawn.

Overall, if you don't mind fairly long and endurance-based challenges while exploring massive yet vibrant looking levels, then KBR2 can deliver. It definitely starts out fairly easy so don't get too overwhelmed by its difficulty. Most of the game is moderately fair with its platforming, and fortunately doesn't really have that much BS parts to it. Though it's gonna be a loooong ride.
