Achari Chicken is very popular Indian dhaba style chicken recipe cooking with many spices which we used to cook Indian pickle preparation.
Ingredients of Achari Chicken :
Chicken - 750 gm
Chopped Onion
Yogurt
Tomato Paste
Ginger Paste
Garlic Paste
Turmeric Powder
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
Lemon Juice
Green Chilli
Panch Phoron
Dry Red Chilli
Coriander Seeds
Cumin Seeds
Fennel Seeds
Fenugreek Seeds
Black Pepper Powder
Garam Masala Powder
Salt
Mustard Oil
Methods of how to make Achari Chicken:
1. At first marinate the Chicken.
2. Add 1/2 Lime Juice, 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder, 3 tbsp. Yogurt. Mix well and leave it for about 30 mins.
3. Heat up a kadai and add 4 Dry Chillies and roast for a while.
4. After a while add 2 tsp Whole Coriander, 1 tsp Whole Cumin,1 tsp Fennel Seeds, 1/2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds.
5. Roast the masala on low flame or they might get burned.
6. After roasting grind them to make a powder.
7. Now heat up a kadai and add 4 tbsp. Mustard Oil.
8. Add 2 Dry Chillies, 1/2 tsp Panch Foron. Fry the masala for 30 secs.
9. Then add 2 medium size chopped Onion .
10. Fry the Onion well on medium flame.
11. After frying add 1 tsp Ginger Paste, 2 tsp Garlic Paste. Fry for 2 more mins on medium flame.
12. Add 1 tsp Turmeric Powder, 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder,1/2 tsp Salt, little bit Water and fry the masala,Then add 1 big size Tomato Paste. Cook for 1 minute on high flame.
13. Now add the marinated Chicken. Stir occasionally and cook on high flame.
14. Add salt & chilli as per taste.
15. Turn the flame to medium and add 3 tbsp. Yogurt,2 tsp Roasted Masala Powder that you made.
16. Now cook for 2 mins on high flame.
17. Add 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder, 1 tsp Roasted Masala Powder and cook for 1 more minute.
18. After 1 minute add 1/2 cup Water and cook on high flame.
19. When it starts boiling cover and cook for 10 mins on high flame.
20. After 5 min stir well and add Green Chillies,Then again cover and cook for 5 mins on medium flame.
21. After another 5 mins turn the flame to high.
22. You can add little bit sugar.
23. Cook for 2-3 mins on high flame till you get your required gravy.
24. Finally add 1/4 tsp Garam Masala Powder, 1/4 tsp Roasted Masala. Turn off your oven and cover and let it rest for 5 mins.
25. Then serve it hot with Chapati, Paratha, Kulcha or Naan.
26. Our today's recipe Achari Chicken or Achari Murgh.
