A Freakbeat classic. Canadian / British rock 'n' roll band, founded as The Crescendos in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1963. Members included Glenn MacRae (lead vocals, harmonica, saxophone), Terry Loeb (lead guitar, vocals), Dennis Penner (bass guitar, vocals) and Vance Schmidt (later known as Vance Masters) (drums, vocals). The group moved to Liverpool, UK, in July, 1965. In February 1966 they began regularly playing at the Cavern Club. A few months later they were spotted by Chris Curtis of The Searchers who renamed them and organized the recording session in London which resulted in their only single Hungry (A cover of Paul Revere & The Raiders but sounding more gritty and had a wilder edge than Paul Revere's version) .
Back in Winnipeg, MacRae, Loeb, and Schmidt were re-joined by Penner and re-established themselves as The Crescendos. The group broke up in August 1967.
