Trowback (2014): Clearwater Marine Aquarium + a meeting Winter the Dolphin.

Описание: As promised last week, here is the second video about Clearwater Florida, and there Marine Aquarium. This is a shelter, hospital and aquarium for animals that need help, need to be rehabilitated or surgery. Not all animals can go back into the wild and have to stay. Like Winter, she is a dolphin that was found in the ropes of a crab trap on the 10th of December 2005 in Mosquito Lagoon, Florida. At the time of her rescue, she was estimated to be around two months old. The rope in which Winter was entangled cut off the supply of blood to her tail, casing it to naturally detach from her body. She was rescued and brought to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium where she got an prosthetic tale in 2007 (after testing, testing and testing). Now she swims with it daily.
A book and a movie are based on Winter's Story, titled; Winter’s Tail: How One Little Dolphin Learned to Swim Again (2009) and Dolphin Tale (September 23rd in 2011)

Next to Winter you can also meet two other dolphin's that are also in this video. Hope (Starring in Dolphin Tale 2) who stranded along side her mother in the shallows of Indian River Lagoon. She was also a 2 month old baby, still attempting to nurse from her mother who was already dead. She can't go back in the wild because she has not learned the necessary survival skills, so now she lives in the same tank as Winter.

The second dolphin is named Nicholas, he was stranded near Gibsonton, Florida with his mom Noelle in December 24th in 2002. They both had sustained third degree burns. His mom had these burns around her dorsal fin and was to blieved to have resporatory illness. Unfortunatly she passed away three days later.
