This year Wac Arts partnered with Akademi to deliver a brand-new Intergenerational Dance Project for people of all ages from the local area. Over the course of eight weeks participants came together at Wac Arts to explore Bharatanatyam, a classic Indian dance style, under the guidance of expert facilitators. The sessions began with light refreshments and time for the group to connect and settle into the space, before introducing the session focus and physical warm up activities. During the initial weeks, participants were guided through choreographed routines including key Bharatanatyam movements and worked together in later weeks to devise their own sequences inspired by the Bharatanatyam and their dance styles that influenced them.
