The follow up to Thomas Happ Games' much loved 2015 Metroidvania has plenty of that back-and-forthing that fans enjoyed in the original, but that's not RPS editor-in-chief Katharine Castle's favourite thing in the game. Katharine goes into this in our Axiom Verge 2 PC review chat, but here's a little extra for those of you that actually read the descriptions on videos. At the beginning of the game, the human character – Indra – is pretty capable. As Katharine mentions, and as you can see in this Axiom Verge gameplay, she has a decent amount of health, she can cover distance with her jump, and she packs a punch in a fight. But, does she have a grappling hook? No. Therefore: Axiom Verge 2 Drone is better than Axiom Verge 2 Indra.

The gliding and razorblade is a plus, but the fluidity that this grappling hook gives you in movement is Katharine's absolute favourite thing about the game, as she says in our Axiom Verge 2 review chat. I mean, you can see it for yourself in our Axiom Verge 2 gameplay. Just watch that little guy fly.
