After being stranded at the side of the road while collecting my new 6 ton project truck, the garage finally repaired the fault and it was time to collect it and attempt the journey home again.
In the previous video the truck broke down late at night, leaving me stuck in the middle of nowhere with a loud metal-on-metal noise coming from underneath the vehicle. You can watch that video here if you missed it:
Now the truck is fixed, but what actually went wrong?
In this video I collect the repaired truck, inspect the damage, and show exactly what caused the breakdown. The fault turned out to be a failed propshaft centre bearing, which allowed the propshaft to strike the carrier bracket and make a serious amount of noise. After a two-day ordeal involving breakdown recovery, cancelled trains and sleeping in the cab, this was finally the moment to see if the truck would make it home.
