The story of Whitney Houston's death is a Hollywood tragedy for the ages. However, not everyone knows that Houston's daughter shared an eerily similar fate only a few years after her mother. Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was born at the height of Whitney Houston's fame. She was named after her father, Houston's fellow rhythm and blues singer, Bobby Brown. Due to the responsibilities of her extravagant career, Houston often found herself unable to spend the time that she desired with her daughter. Many attribute Houston's increasing problems with substance abuse to the guilt she felt from this harsh reality. Both Whitney Houston and her husband were often intoxicated around their daughter, leading to her growing up in an unstable environment.

The family life of Whitney, Bobby, and their daughter was notoriously documented on the realty series Being Bobby Brown. This series aired in 2005, when Bobbi Kristina was barely a teenager. On the show, Whitney and Bobby often appeared intoxicated, much to the chagrin and embarrassment of their young daughter. Whitney and Bobby's relationship was plagued with a variety of issues, leading to a divorce in 2007.
