Because Sonic Colours Ultimate added the Sweet Spot mechanic to homing attacks, it has seemingly added an extra exploit related to how Terminal Velocity Boss' attack chain works.

You see, because Sweet Spots immediately let you regain control, and because the second last hit in the homing attack combo on TV Boss is so incredibly close to the cockpit you inevitably hit for the final strike, you can skip the cinematic line-up that would usually play.

To do this, hold up-left if in the left lane or up-right if in the right throughout the entire combo chain to gain the lock-on reticles as quickly as possible, then mash like mad once you activate the second last hit's Sweet Spot attack.

As you can see here, it saves quite a significant chunk of time. Doubly so when mixed with the perfect chase RNG of Spike into Laser. A sub 2:10, who'd have thought we'd be getting times like that ('w')


There's another Phase Skip that we're like 99.9% sure is a Switch exclusive that unfortunately I can't do until I get my hands on the Switch version, which I will at some point, but this is mainly to show what a perfect run looks like with just the Quick Hits and solid boss RNG 😊
