Expand your Arabic vocabulary with this video! Learn common verbs in the Imperative form Arabic in the Levantine dialect. Imperative verbs are a way to give others a command. You'll learn how to say these commands for three forms of the second person: masculine singular, feminine singular, and plural. I provide the word written in Arabic, the English transliteration to help with your pronunciation, and the English translation. Listen to these verbs and try your best to repeat. To get more practice, we'll listen to some example sentences

These are the imperative verbs you will learn in the video. The verbs will be listed in this order: masculine singular, feminine singular, and then plural.

1. Return: اِرْجَعْ (irja'a), اِرْجَعِي (irja’ai), اِرْجَعُوا (irja’au)
2. Call اِتَّصِلْ (itisil), اِتَّصِلِي (itisli), اِتَّصِلُوا (itislu)
3. Send اِبْعَتْ (ib’at), اِبْعَتِي (ib'ati), اِبْعَتُوا (ib'atu)
4. Tell/Say قُلْ ('ool), قُولِي ('ooli), قُولُوا ('oolu)
5.Tell/Speak احْكِ (ihki), احْكِي (ihkii), احْكُوا (ihku)
6. Be quiet اُسْكُتْ (uskut), اُسْكُتِي (uskuti), اُسْكُتُوا (uskutu)
7. Shut up اِخْرَسْ (ikhras), اِخْرَسِي (ikhrasi), اِخْرَسُوا (ikhrasu)
8. Shut up (eat air) كُل هَوا (kul hawa), كُلِّي هَوا (kuli hawa), كُلُوا هَوا (kulu hawa)
9. Explain اشْرَحْ (ishrah), اشْرَحِي (ishrahi), اشْرَحُوا (ishrahu)
10. Cut اُقُصَّ (o’us), اُقُصِّي (o'usi), اُقُصُّوا (o'usu)
11. Sew/Stitch خَيِّطْ (khayit), خَيِّطِي (khayiti), خَيِّطُوا (khayitu)
