As Uganda and other African countries grapple with youth unemployment, a major education initiative is working to change the narrative through skills training. The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is rolling out the Second Chance Programme, part of a $182 million initiative across 10 countries, aimed at equipping 10,500 young people with technical and vocational skills. The programme emphasises inclusion, targeting 80% girls and 20% boys, as well as persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and refugees, in a bid to close the skills gap and boost employment opportunities.
