In this video Dave talks about how modes occur within a key, and how we can use a mode as the "key scale" for a piece of music rather than simply using major or minor. This assumes that you already understand the basics of chord and mode harmony in major and minor keys - if you're not familiar with that then it would be best to check out earlier tutorials which cover this in more detail.
