Born in Worcester Massachusetts in 1962 to two university students, Lonnie Supnick and Judith Ephron. His mother Judith had the artistic vein. Niece of Henry Ephron and Phoebe Wolkind Ephron who were American playwrights, screenwriters and film producers in the 1940’s, 50’s, and 60’s. Judith’s cousin’s, daughters of Henry and Phoebe, also became successful writers themselves, the most famous being Nora Ephron. In Michael’s home there was much music, including jazz. In the early 1960’s Michael’s mother played the guitar and sang and hung out with artists of the Boston folk music scene including the likes of Jim Kweskin, Joan Baez, Maria Muldaur, and Bob Dylan. Michael attended the Berklee College of Music where he graduated in 1984. Michael lives in Rome, Italy since 1985.
Michael has toured extensively in Italy, but has also worked in Albania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, Israel, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Montenegro, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates.
Michael has partecipated in countless jazz festivals, most notably: San Marino in 3 editions, Praga (Republica Ceca), New Orleans Jazz Festival di Ascona (Svizzera) 5 editions, Villa Celimontana, Roma (Italy) 5 editions, Umbria Jazz (Italy) 4 editions, Dresden (Germany) 2 editions, Riverboat Festival (Denmark), Tel Aviv Hot Jazz Festival (Israel) 2 editions, and the International Jazz Day festivities (Albania) 4 editions.
Michael has published 14 CD's under is own name and has over 200 recording credits.
