TV mounting when you're not able to anchor into the wood studs behind the drywall. Many non load bearing walls now have studs placed 24" on center which is too far apart.
Sure you can use those toggle anchors, but I honestly don't trust them. Also, they require a huge 1/2" hole to be drilled and if you're renting, this means it's more work to repair when it comes time to move out.
This way is VERY strong and much simpler to repair/less damage if you need to take it down.
