I've been wanting to make a video like this for awhile now on how to use the fare machines in the Montreal Metro System.
In this video here, we are buying an All Modes 24 hour pass for Zone A and B on a non rechargeable card using cash as the payment method.
As you can see, the debit card was being accepted by the machine.
