This is part of a series of hyper-local updates giving a comprehensive Southeast look at what I’m seeing right now.

For the Charlotte metro and much of the North Carolina Piedmont, winter weather impacts are increasingly possible this weekend. While exact precipitation types are still being refined, the overall pattern supports deteriorating conditions sometime Saturday, with the highest impact window likely Saturday night into Sunday.

This system contains a significant amount of moisture, and small temperature differences will determine whether areas see mainly cold rain, freezing rain, sleet, or some snow — especially north and west of Charlotte. My focus over the next 24 hours is refining that breakdown so we can better define impacts and timing by Thursday.
