Forecast promised winds around 15m/s (30 knots) and waves up to 4 meters (13 feet), so we decided to go surfing with J/92 Shere Khan. Follow us on Facebook: / sherekhansailing
Second reef on the main and smallest spinnaker we had was almost too much for gusts going up to 20m/s (40 knots).
Despite relatively heavy weather, we did not use harnesses - water was not too cold, and while moving over 10 knots, being on the water but attached to the boat can be more dangerous than waiting to be picked up. See for example http://www.yachtingworld.com/blogs/el...
