Reports circulating in pro-war circles also warn about Telegram restrictions and draft-related enforcement pressure, alongside rising elite pressure around figures linked to Sergey Shoigu’s circle. As external escalation raises costs and uncertainty, a strained wartime economy makes coercion easier to sell than results, and the regime leans harder on censorship, enforcement, and purges.
