Artistic Director Viktoras Prizgintas realized early in his teaching career that his student's concept of practicing scales was not necessarily the same as his. To address that conflict, he arranged a two octave version of the scales that go through thirteen variations which leads into arpeggios. The variations introduce various rhythms and bowings that are often encountered in the orchestral repertoire. He found this approach crucial especially in addressing the dotted eighth -- sixteenth notes pattern which is often mistakenly performed as triplets.
The scale variations are available free of charge to any director who requests one through the comment section on the video.
