This is the full true story of the Longewala Battle 1971, one of the greatest battles of the India vs Pakistan war. The Battle of Longewala took place at the Longewala border near Longewala Jaisalmer in Rajasthan during the India Pakistan War 1971.
At the Longewala post, only 120 Indian soldiers of the 23 Punjab Regiment, led by Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri, defended their position against more than 2000 Pakistani soldiers and 45 tanks. Pakistan planned to capture Longewala border, Ramgarh, and Jaisalmer under Operation Chengiz Khan.
Despite having no tanks, Indian soldiers held their ground at Longewala border Jaisalmer throughout the night. At sunrise, the Indian Air Force launched a powerful air attack and destroyed Pakistani tanks trapped in the desert near Longewala war memorial.
