Coming to you from a small town on the wild West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, this video captures the raw atmosphere of the Denniston Hill Climb 2026, hosted by the Westland Car Club in Waimangaroa.
This was my first time attending the Denniston Hill Climb car sprint up to the Denniston Plateau. I jumped on the motorcycle and headed over to see what it was all about, and I’m glad I did. From the sound of high-revving engines to the challenging hill climb course, the weekend delivered some seriously impressive grassroots motorsport.
Luckily, I had my action camera with me, so this video features a selection of clips from across the weekend, showcasing the cars, the course, and the unique West Coast scenery that makes this event so special.
