Welcome to the beautiful shores of the historic, Fort Fisher, North Carolina which has some of the most jaw-dropping ocean access that the region has to offer. This magnificent beach and rocky regions give tourists a real treat when they travel to this location.
During 1865, Fort Fisher hosted the largest military fort in the world aiding confederate troops to dominance during the war. Because of Fort Fisher's effectiveness, Wilmington remained the last port open to supply Gen. Robert E. Lee's Confederate forces. Supplies reaching the port were shipped by rail across eastern North Carolina to the army protecting Richmond, the Confederate capital.
