Election strategist Prashant Kishor has resigned as the principal advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. In a letter to the Punjab CM, Prashant Kishor said he wished to take a “temporary break from an active role in public life”. Prashant Kishor also added that he is yet to decide on his future course of action.Sources have said the office of the Punjab CM was not aware of Prashant Kishor’s decision to step down from his position. They attribute strained ties between the two as the reason for Prashant Kishor’s decision as reports had emerged that the poll strategist had backed Navjot Singh Sidhu's candidature for the Punjab Congress chief’s post.
