This basic video documents the replacement of a D2R HID Xenon Gas Discharge Bulb on a 2005 Honda Airwave.
As proven by this time lapse video it is possible to perform this maintenance as an amateur with basic tools. A set of screwdrivers, a socket set and a pair of gloves is all that is required. It is recommended to that the bulb is treated with care – do not handle it in bare hands and try not to bump it in the tight spaces.
High-intensity discharge (HID) lights, use Xenon gas and produce a brighter light with less energy than halogen bulbs and with far less heat. The blue-white light emitted by xenon bulbs commonly ‘blinds’ other drivers, the bulbs also last considerably longer than their halogen counterparts.
The Honda Airwave is a subcompact car produced by the Japanese automaker Honda from 2005 to 2010, it was succeeded by the Honda Fit.
