Transcript: "Hey guys. Welcome back to Writing Wednesday. Right now I am in the thick of doing research for Content Marketing World. I'm giving a talk there called "The 7 Writing Secrets of Hit-Making Song Writers." Say that 7 times fast!
I'm learning so much cool stuff about how what you learn from song writers can apply to your own writing. I wanted to share one tip as a preview.
Chris Martin from Coldplay talks about how when they were laying down the track for their smash 'Yellow' he was playing on the piano and he looked over and saw all the yellow pages and decided to use the word yellow.
Another story that's really cool is that when the song writing team that was writing Rihanna's 'Umbrella' started laying down the riff, this guy named Dream went into the studio, heard it, and just went into the sound booth and started singing, 'Umbrella... ella... ella...' It just came into his head.
My point to you is to write like no one is watching because you never know what creative things you may pull out. See you next week."
