Over the past one year the RBI has sent out repeated warning signals on unsecured lending being a cause of concern, now there is undeniable proof that unsecured lending portfolios of lenders like Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bank of India, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finance are causing a significant amount of distress. Trans Union Cibil suggests that credit card default rate is at 1.8% as of June 2024 and outstanding credit card dues are at Rs 2 ,72,000 crore.
