A 98-year-old received a heart-warming birthday gift as her neighbours ventured out into the street to sing her happy birthday.
Due to the coronavirus lockdown, Barbara Bakewell had to spend her 98th birthday alone at her home in Redditch, Worcestershire.
But thanks to thoughtful neighbours Chris Carr and Joanna Shipley, Barbara was treated to a heart-warming serenade as the entire street briefly left their homes in order to sing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday girl.
Chris said: “I knocked on every single door in our close, but obviously, given the current pandemic I maintained a social distance.
