Spotty black ice is likely Monday morning from snowmelt freezing on the roads. Sunshine returns with just a few afternoon clouds and highs in the low 40s for the Piedmont Triad and Foothills. Winds are light Monday and will increase slightly with a mild flow out of the southwest during the day on Tuesday. Highs soar into the 60s this week with comfortable weather through Wednesday. Another round of cooler air arrives as an upper trough digs southward with cooler Pacific air. Unsettled weather develops with a chance of rain late week. We will be monitoring the forecast for wintry chances in the Triad as we get closer to the Valentine's Day weekend. Travel impacts from black ice will be a concern for the holiday weekend regardless of precipitation type because morning lows are forecast to dip below freezing.
