Now, another blow has emerged as Sushmita Dev has also resigned from the Rajya Sabha. A former Congress MP from Assam’s Silchar, she joined TMC in 2021 and quickly rose to become a national spokesperson before being elevated to the Upper House.

This marks the second high-profile exit within a week, adding to speculation of growing internal strain within Mamata Banerjee’s party structure. However, official party responses and further political confirmations are still awaited
