The Taurus G3C is a compact counterpart to the Taurus G3 full-size pistol, perfectly suited to easy daily concealed carry, which it definitely is.

You might notice that the G3C has a number of features from the G3, but otherwise appears identical to the G2C and the PT111 G2 pistols previously from Taurus. There's a good reason for that.

In the broad strokes, the G3C is indeed a G2C - and therefore a Taurus PT111 G2 - that's been given a modest update, bringing it a bit more cosmetically inline with the G3. The changes aren't sweeping; it's the same gun mechanically. However, there are a few minor updates that also add up to some incremental improvements.

The trigger itself has been changed to the G3's trigger and safety tab. The trigger mechanism and all other components remain the same. The G3C also retains the second strike capability of the previous models.

The frame is also the same, with the same texture and accessory rail for mounting a compact laser or light.

The slide serrations have been slightly changed, as they are a little less aggressive. Front slide serrations have also been added. The rear sight has also been changed to a simpler serrated black steel rear sight, which actually gives the front sight a bit more contrast and makes it easier to pick up when presenting to the target.

However, all the virtues that made the PT111 G2 and G2C one of the better budget EDC pistols still remain. It has a decent factory trigger, the pistol is rugged, reliable and accurate beyond what its price tag would suggest.

The song may more or less remain the same, but it's still a great tune.
