Описание: Alfred Jodl was one of the most senior military planners in Nazi Germany and a central figure within the Armed Forces High Command (OKW) during the Second World War. As Chief of the Operations Staff, he worked directly under Adolf Hitler, helping coordinate major campaigns across Europe. Jodl was involved in planning operations such as the invasion of Norway and Denmark (Operation Weserübung) and the massive assault on the Soviet Union under Operation Barbarossa. His signature also appeared on controversial directives, including the Kommissar Order, which authorized the execution of captured Soviet political officers.

Though not formally a member of the Nazi Party, Jodl remained loyal to Hitler throughout the war and continued serving in the highest levels of command until Germany’s collapse. In May 1945, he signed Germany’s unconditional surrender on behalf of the German High Command. After the war, he was arrested and tried at the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg. Prosecutors argued that his operational leadership and endorsement of criminal orders made him complicit in war crimes and crimes against humanity. In October 1946, Alfred Jodl was convicted and executed by hanging. His career remains a stark example of how senior military officials enabled and enforced the policies of the Third Reich.
