Tway Ma Shaung 63 kg defeated many bigger , stronger opponents from all over the world including 76 kg fighters . He has over 100 fights and just lost once when he was really young . In Myanmar traditional Boxing or Lethwei , u must KO/TKO your opponent or it will be the draw no points system . From round 1 to 4 , if one of the fighters got knocked down , he can request 2 or 3 mins time out to continue the fight . In old days , it has no time limits and no hand wraps , it was only modernized recently . Head butts , throws , standing up choking , clinching , slam down and all form of stand up martial arts techniques are allowed as Lethwei is a small branch of BANDO Myanmar unarmed martial art .

Lethwei just a small branch of bando is similar to muay thai / muay boran from Thailand & Khun Khmer / Bokator from Cambodia . But similar dosen't mean the same . I can't explain the differences in details , but if u ask Lethwei & Muay Thai practitioners , they can explain u the differences . As Burmese government don't support any kind of traditional sport in myanmar , Lethwei hardly survived through hard time . Unlike thai government burmese goverment make strick rules for lethwei fights to organize . So nowadays most lethwei fights happen in rural areas . Poor Lethwei fighters don't have own training places and they can't train peacefully as pro thai fighters , coz there's no lethwei fights for them all year around , so they aren't full time lethwei fighters . So they even fight for a meal and their determination to win is so high .In Myanmar there are around 400 - 500 fighters currently and only around 10 fighters big names are making good money .
