Reconciliation is a special budget process that lets certain tax-and-spending bills pass the Senate with a simple majority instead of the usual 60 votes.

Some of the biggest proposed increases go to the Department of War, the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the Department of Transportation (DOT).

Some of the biggest proposed cuts hit the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Department of Labor (DOL), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Department of the Interior (DOI).

The budget also says the Department of Education (ED) would be put “on a path to elimination,” though major school aid like Title I would continue.
