Unboxing a 14 Yr Old Camera: Leica M9-P Black Paint

Описание: I've always been curious about the original Leica M9. When I started reviewing Leica in the early 2010s, the M240 was the current model. Throughout the years I've met people who swear by this camera and its unique Kodak CCD sensor. The digital files were originally designed to look similar to the Kodak Kodachrome slide film. I've seen images captured with the M9 and they do look film-like, but how much of it was in the actual processing of the image in Lightroom or Photoshop? I wanted to find out.

One of my followers recently asked me which of his rare Leica cameras I would want to review and I immediately picked the Leica M3 and the Leica M9-P, both in black paint. Here is my initial unboxing and first look at this iconic digital Leica M camera. I have included some inserts with my conversation with Stefan Daniel of Leica back in 2021 concerning the M9, including the sensor corrosion issue.

Personally, I think Leica went above and beyond what any other camera manufacturer would have done, but for $8000 USD new, I think Leica users expected it, and hopefully won their loyalty. Leica still has their trade-up program for those who have an M9 with a sensor corrosion issue, so please look into this if you have this problem. Let me know about your experience with your Leica M9.
