Nigerian multidisciplinary artist Daniel Obasi presents 'NDEWO’, a poignant short film commissioned by RIMOWA that explores notions of identity and tradition, offering a glimpse of Nigeria in this instalment of the New Horizons series, with RIMOWA as companion from Lagos to Enugu.
Follow Chike during the festive season as he returns to his hometown for his brother's wedding. Set to The Cavemen's "Osondu," a blend of Highlife music and modern sounds, the film pulsates with colourful attire, symbolic white chalk, Nzu, markings, and rhythmic Adanama dances, painting a vivid picture of cultural pride.
Obasi's work echoes RIMOWA's ethos: a reminder that culture, like the best designs, is both timeless and ever-changing.
