Today we're bringing you
tips #3 and #4.

In part two of our series called: “Ten Easy End of Year Tax Tips to Increase Your Tax Refund.”

Did you know that some of the activities you did this year to enrich your life could also mean tax benefits when you file your taxes?

Tip #3:
did you clean out your closets this year and donate clothes, or household goods to a charity?

Well, not only will your gently used donated items benefit others in need, but you may also be able to claim them as a charitable deduction.

Or if you volunteered for a charitable organization, you may be able to deduct your mileage driven for charitable service.

Helping others in need is rewarding, but it is also nice to know you can reap the benefits on your tax return.

Tip #4:

Did you take a college course this year to improve your skills or advance your career? If so, you may be able to take an education credit up to $2,000 on your 2025 taxes, lowering your taxes or boosting your tax refund.

Even paying for a class by December 31st that takes place in the beginning of next year could give you a tax credit of up to $2,000 on your 2025 taxes.
