Singur and Tata are two names ,If you mention one, the topic of another one comes up. In 2006, while taking oath as Chief Minister of the Seventh Left Front Government, Buddhadev Bhattacharya announced the establishment of a small car factory in Singur, sitting beside Ratan Tata.
Although the factory started in 2007, a group of farmers started a movement for land rights.
