Nugget our pet emu helps me all the time with the daily farm chores, and having this silly strange giant bird as a pet causes nugget to want to cool off and the best way our emu has found to beat this summertime heat is by taking frequent dips in the water. Emus just cannot get enough of playing in the water. Our bay emu just loves it so much that we frequently take little trips down to our creek that runs through our homestead. Nugget the emu will stay down at the creek and play for as long as we let it. Nugget does loves to try and get as far down under the water as possible while his head is poking out of the water, which makes nugget look like a submarine or like MC likes to call him, a NUGarine. Our family has so enjoyed raising this emu and we love having this big bird as a family farm pet, and this emu just makes us laugh and smile all day long.
