Ishtāqatil-qulūbu li jamāli al-maḥbūb | إشْتَاقَتِ القُلُوبُ | لِجَمَالِ المَحْبُوبِ
اشتاقت القلوب لجمال المحبوب | ليس فيها لغوب هامَت في حب الله
Ishtaqat al-qulub li jamal al-mahbub | laysa fiha lughub, hamat fi hubb Allah
The hearts have longed for the beauty of the Beloved; there is no weariness in them, they are immersed in the love of God
سلّم لما ترى فالسّر إن سرى | خلعنا العذار وفنينا في الله
Sallim lima tara, fa al-sirr in sara | Khala’na al-‘idhar wa fanayna fi Allah
Submit to what you witness, for if the secret flows, we cast off restraint and are annihilated in God
هذه طريق الحال | لا تعرف بالمقال | لا تدرك بالأعمال | هي من فضل الله
Hadhihi tariqu al-hal | la tu‘raf bil-maqal | la tudrak bil-a‘mal | hiya min fadl Allah
This is the path of spiritual state; it is not known by words, nor attained by deeds alone it is from the grace of God
