As we dive into the planting season, we're already ahead of the 5-year average with 40% of corn planted by the end of April. Nationally, producers across the United States are planning to plant 92.0 million acres of corn in 2023, a 4% increase from last year, according to the USDA's Prospective Plantings report.

We'll take you to the fields to meet Shane Gray, an Illinois corn farmer, who will share his experiences and insights.

In other news, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has made an important announcement. They will ensure drivers have continued access to lower-cost and lower-emission E15 fuel, a higher ethanol blend known as Unleaded 88. This decision, supported by the IL Corn Growers Association and National Corn Growers Association, will help relieve fuel supply pressures and save consumers significantly at the pump.
