Dandapani Patra, the Panchayat Executive Officer of Ramachandrapur, passed away after battling for life for 15 days in the hospital. He had allegedly consumed poison following a police summons related to a harassment complaint filed by a female official during the Sunapur Beach Festival Marathon.
While the complainant remains silent, the PEO Association has now come forward in support of the deceased officer, demanding a fair probe. His wife had previously reached out to the District Collector regarding the matter. Berhampur SP has confirmed that two separate cases have been registered and the investigation is currently underway at the Golanthara Police Station.
