1)Components/parts of IC Engine in hindi with diagram, animation, its materials & functions.
2) CYLINDER: It is the main part of the engine inside which piston reciprocates to and fro & retain the working fluid.
3) CYLINDER HEAD: The top end of the cylinder is covered by cylinder head. A copper or asbestos gasket is provided between the engine cylinder and cylinder head to make an air tight joint.
4) PISTON: The piston is a disc which reciprocates within a cylinder. The main function of the piston of an internal combustion engine is to receive the impulse from the expanding gas and to transmit the energy to the crankshaft through the connecting rod.
5) PISTON RING: Types of rings- compression and oil rings.
Compression ring is upper ring of the piston which provides air tight seal to prevent leakage of the burnt gases into the lower portion. Oil ring is lower ring which provides effective seal to prevent leakage of the oil into the engine cylinder.
6) CONNECTING ROD: It converts reciprocating motion of the piston into circular motion of the crank shaft, in the working stroke. The smaller end of the connecting rod is connected with the piston by gudgeon pin and bigger end of the connecting rod is connected with the crank with crank pin.
7) CRANKSHAFT: A crankshaft (i.e. a shaft with a crank) is used to convert reciprocating motion of the piston into rotatory motion or vice versa.
8) CRANK CASE: It houses cylinder and crankshaft of the IC engine. It also serves as sump for the lubricating oil. Crankcases are cast in iron, aluminum, or magnesium materials.
9) SPARK PLUG: Electric device used to initiate combustion in SI engine.
The wire which connect all the spark plugs to the distributor.
10) INTAKE VALVE: An intake valve is a valve that controls the amount of working fluid entering the cylinder of an engine. Piping system which delivers incoming air to the cylinder. In SI engine, fuel added to the air in intake manifold.
11) EXHAUST VALVE: An exhaust valve is a valve that releases burned gases from a cylinder. The exhaust valve closes during the initial part of the induction stroke. Piping system which carry exhaust gases away from the system.
12) CAM SHAFT: The camshaft, which controls the action of the valves, rotates at half the crankshaft speed. The camshaft controls the movement of the engine valves.
13) FLYWHEEL: To store the energy , provide energy when it is needed and store. It keeps the engine rotating.
14)FUEL INJECTOR: A pressurized nozzle which spray the fuel into the incoming air in CI engine.Injector directly spray at the combustion chamber.
It is placed at the centre of the combustion chamber.
15)CARBURETORS: The main function of carburetors to mix air and gasoline and provides a high combustion mixture. It controls the engine speed. It also regulates the air-fuel ratio.
16)FUEL PUMP: Electrically or Mechanically driven pump to supply fuel from the fuel tank to the engine.
