Many times I have been told to drain my tank, remove my fish, and then you can add additional substrate. Well I have a aquarium hack to add more substrate to an already established aquarium without draining or removing fish, this method reduces stress on your fish. This only works for small grain substrates that can be thoroughly rinsed. If using a substrate that can't be rinsed, then use this technique at your own discretion.
