TOM WLASCHIHA plays SEBASTIAN BERGER, Investigator, Polizei Berlin. The team’s ‘techie’, Sebastian rose to German national prominence, assisting with the high-tech aspects of the investigation into the massacre of seven people at a Chinese restaurant in Sittensen, Germany. He spearheaded the use and adaptation of a new technology called ‘Scan-Gen,’ developed at the University of Zurich, utilizing a Virtobot and an MRI device to recreate the crime scene. The Scan-Gen not only led to the capture of the Triads involved in the murders, almost more importantly, it was able to show which of the killers did what at the scene, aiding in their prosecution. Very much a believer in high-tech applications for modern law-enforcement, Sebastian is a bit high strung which is not helped by his gambling addiction. Never one to sit still for long, Sebastian is considered cold by people who don’t know him. He’s really just cautious.
RICHARD FLOOD plays TOMMY MCCONNELL, Detective, Police Services Northern Ireland. An Irish bruiser and bare-knuckle fighter, Tommy grew up a member of a Traveler’s clan and IRA supporter in rough and tumble Northern Ireland. His mother moved them to London when Tommy was a teen to keep him out of trouble. It only made Tommy dislike Brits that much more. In and out of juvenile centers, Tommy couldn’t seem to stay out of the family business, becoming quite an expert petty thief and a fearsome fighter. In fact, when he was just 21, he nearly killed a member of another clan during an honor fight. Returning home to London, he found a Scotland Yard DSI waiting for him. This DSI knew all about his antics up north (the other clan’s family were informants) and gave Tommy a choice. He could either turn himself in and face prison or join the Service and put his knowledge of crime and criminals to some actual good use. Tommy would never inform on his family and the DSI told him they weren’t looking for that. Only his mind and experience. Tommy saw this as an opportunity to join the ‘enemy’ and maybe even change some of the stereotypes that Travellers and cops had about each other. Among his physical skills, Tommy can shoot almost anything with deadly accuracy. He’s also quite good with explosives but… well, that’s another story isn’t it?
